The Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch Apollo 15 40th Anniversary 311.30.42.30.01.003 is a historically significant timepiece that commemorates NASA’s 1971 lunar mission with exceptional craftsmanship and authentic Moonwatch DNA. This 42mm stainless steel chronograph faithfully replicates the design worn by Apollo 15 astronauts, featuring the iconic black step dial with applied Omega logo and dot-over-90 bezel configuration that collectors prize. The hesalite crystal maintains historical accuracy while providing that distinctive warm glow, and the manual-winding Caliber 1861 movement continues the legacy of the exact mechanism that operated flawlessly in space. Special anniversary details include the Apollo 15 mission patch engraved on the caseback along with “40th Anniversary” inscription and the dates of the mission (July 26 – August 7, 1971). The black tachymeter bezel with its anodized aluminum insert shows just the right amount of vintage-inspired fade, while the luminous hands and markers coated in Super-LumiNova ensure excellent readability. Housed in Omega’s signature asymmetrical stainless steel case, this Speedmaster comes on the robust flat-link bracelet with straight end pieces for period-correct styling.
